7 Best Weather Websites

7. Weather Bug

WeatherBug

Website: https://www.weatherbug.com
App: Android / iOS

Weather Bug is a great website full of real time information including pollen indexes, severe weather trackers, hourly forecasts, radars, news, etc. Much like The Weather Channel, Weather Bug has a news section with videos and blogs which are great and up to speed with great content.

✔️ Weather Bug is simple and full of real time data

✔️ They have a great news and informative section

✔️ Their site has pretty accurate forecasts

❌ Weather Bug has many annoying ads

❌ Their Radar imagery is not the greatest

Weather Center rates Weather Bug as a 5.5/10.0 because of the ads and some other issues that weigh on the sites greatness. Overall you can still get a lot out of Weather Bug!

6. AccuWeather

AccuWeather

Website: https://www.accuweather.com
App: Android / iOS

AccuWeather is honestly a great website and should be higher on the list but lacks the weather geek amount of data so its only at number 6. AccuWeather is mainly a Weather news site with blogs, videos, latest news, and weather education. They also have some radars and some great forecasts with a 90 day forecast as well! Their Weather App too is one of the most popular weather apps on the app store as well.

✔️ AccuWeather has tons of informative news and videos

✔️ They have little ads and they aren’t annoying most of the time.

✔️ Their site has pretty accurate forecasts and has some of the most advanced long ranged forecasts

❌ AccuWeather lacks high intensity weather data

❌ Their Radars aren’t very in depth

❌ Their Future Radar is not very great and very limited on its time span

Weather Center rates AccuWeather as a 8.0/10.0 because of the lack of in depth weather data and lack of quality in radar tech on their site. Overall it has tons of information relating to videos, education, blogs, etc. Plus their mobile weather app is among the best in my opinion!

5. The Weather Channel

The Weather Channel

Website: https://weather.com
App: Android / iOS

The Weather Channel is a very general weather website, the leading TV weather broadcasting network, and one of the most popular weather apps along with AccuWeather. The Weather Channel gives good data and has some pretty decent radars plus they have a very in depth news, blog, and video feed! They also have a very clean looking site.

✔️ The Weather Channel has tons of informative news and videos

✔️ They have a very clean, nice, and easy-to-navigate website

✔️ Their site has pretty accurate forecasts

❌ Weather Channel lacks high intensity weather data

❌ They have some annoying ads occasionally

❌ Their app went downhill after the premium weather options in their app

4. Dark Sky

Dark Sky

Website: https://darksky.net
App: iOS

Dark Sky is a unique one for sure. They are known for their impressive weather app on the apple store. They have amazing minute-by-minute forecasts and a very interesting but odd weather radar. They also offer many types of alerts like lightning and other severe weather alerts. This app is paid but their website is free but has limited data on it.

✔️ Dark Sky has an impressive forecast

✔️ They have a very clean, nice, and easy-to-navigate app on the app store!

✔️ Their site has pretty accurate forecasts

❌ Dark Sky is not FREE, and their website lacks the high quality data their app offers

❌ Their weather radar is a bit strange…

Weather Center rates Dark Sky as a 7.0/10.0, just less than The Weather Channel but it is higher on the list because of the quality of their app and the simplicity of their data! Overall it is a very interesting weather app to check out!

3. Windy Weather

windy weather website

Website: https://www.windy.com
App: Android / iOS

Windy Weather is one of the best FREE radar data set maps with 100’s of options and configurations out there! It will have you consuming hours of your time surfing their data and analyzing it all. They have some great radars and many other layers on their fast website and app! They also have videos and news along with their really smooth nice interface of a website!

✔️ Windy has impressive layers and features with very little ads!

✔️ They have a very clean, nice, and easy-to-navigate website and app!

✔️ Their site has pretty accurate and detailed forecasts

❌ Windy is not extremely easy to use plus their API is a bit confusing

Weather Center rates Windy as a 8.5/10.0. Some issues is that the forecasts can sometimes not be specific enough and/or they are mainly a radar kinda site so if you are looking for past weather trends, you’ve come to the wrong place most likely. Overall it is really amazing and great visuals along with great data!

2. Pivotal Weather

pivotal weather

Website: https://home.pivotalweather.com/

Pivotal Weather is in WC’s opinion the TOP weather data and analysis website with so much data you can’t even believe it. Now you do have to know weather and what you are doing because Pivotal Weather website is very difficult to understand because of the weather terms. But they offer so much for forecasters and many meteorologists rely on Pivotal Weather and so does Texas Weather Center!

✔️ Pivotal Weather has impressive features, abilities, and data!

✔️ They have a very clean setup of a site built for some great in depth weather studies!

✔️ Amazing Forecasts accuracy

❌ Pivotal Weather is extremely difficult to understand and navigate if you don’t know some weather terminology or basics.

❌ Their ads can be annoying sometimes

Weather Center rates Pivotal Weather as a 8.5/10.0 since the difficulty to navigate and understand for most weakens the score of the rating. Overall it is one of the best weather research websites and gives the finest in depth weather data!

1. Weather Underground

Weather Underground

Website: https://www.wunderground.com
App: Android / iOS

Weather Underground is number one because it is almost a mix of all 6 previous. It has great maps and layers, it has its own blogs videos and content, it has detailed forecasts, and it even has the most advanced weather station network of all! Weather Underground is number one because of its simplicity for users to be able to navigate and understand weather best. Their website is fairly easy to navigate, limited ads, and fairly good quality. Their app also has a great forecast system and radar. ✔️ They have a very simple and fairly easy-to-navigate site with tons of data!

✔️ Pretty good Forecast accuracy

✔️ Has weather station data and allows for you to submit station data

❌ Weather Underground ads can get annoying

❌ Their weather app is not the greatest mobile app for weather in WC’s opinion

Weather Center rates Weather Underground as a 9.5/10.0. It is not a 10 because its app is not the greatest compared to AccuWeather or The Weather Channel. Overall a great website!

Best Mobile Weather App

AccuWeather

AccuWeather

Great Data, and over 1.5 million reviews on the app store, 4.6 star rating! This is better than Weather Channel because I think the ads and weather premium push on Weather Channel is negatively impacting them rather than AccuWeather.

Best Paid Radar

RadarScope

Radar Scope Pro

One of the most advanced and detailed paid radars out there. Weather Center uses this for their radar content and data and they love it!

Best Free Radar

MyRadar

MyRadar

One of the best free radar apps in my opinion. Many layers, great forecasts, amazing looking graphics, weather alerts, etc. Check it out!
