An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for all of the DFW metroplex until 8 PM tonight. This means temperatures will be above 105 and heat indexes may soar well above 110 degrees. Much of this week temperatures will remain above 100 degrees. It is important to practice heat safety by drinking plenty of water, avoiding long periods of time outdoors, and never leave people or pets alone in a closed car. Stay weather aware!
