The Leonids Meteor Shower peaks tonight (Friday) after midnight! Unfortunately, much of the DFW metroplex will be too cloudy to see the meteor shower tonight. You can still see the meteor shower up until November 30th, but the chances of seeing the meteors will be less likely. Don’t worry though! The Geminids Meteor Shower is coming soon on December 14th, the biggest meteor shower of the year for DFW with up to 150 meteors per hour!
Leonids Meteor Shower
The Leonids occur when the Earth passes through the debris left by Comet Tempel-Tuttle. The comet takes around 33 years to make one orbit around the Sun.
